What is Transloading?
Transloading, or commonly referred to as Cross-docking, is simply the process of transferring goods from an inbound truck and loading them onto an outbound vehicle.
This service is typically done on the same day as the incoming goods need to be transferred to a different means of transportation for the customer’s final delivery.
In South Florida, this transloading service is commonly used when shipping container companies transport a customer’s container from the port yard to a warehouse facility. From there, a third-party trucking company may be scheduled to deliver the freight.
